The money dates that cost you when they slip
EMIs, rent, premiums and bills — with a reminder that lands three days early, not three days late.
What it does
Every recurring bill in one list
Home loan EMI, room rent, life insurance premium, the credit-card bill, vehicle tax, the streaming subscription you forgot about. Each carries an amount, a due date and a recurrence — monthly, quarterly or yearly — so the list stays true without being rebuilt every month.
Reminders that arrive in time to act
One tap sets a bell for the morning a bill is due, or three days before, which is the version that actually helps when a bank transfer needs clearing time. The reminder rides the same pipeline as everything else in Calenote, so it appears on the calendar, in the day panel and on your phone.
Paid, and on to the next cycle
Marking a recurring bill paid advances the due date by one cycle and moves the reminder with it, clamping sensibly for short months. No re-entering the same EMI twelve times a year.
Overdue is impossible to miss
Three cards sit at the top: what is due this month, what is already overdue and what falls next. Overdue bills are counted, totalled and pushed to the top of the list in red until they are cleared.
Dollars into rupees, without leaving
A live rate card converts USD, EUR, GBP, INR, AUD, JPY, KRW and AED into NPR both ways — useful when the invoice is in dollars and the EMI is in rupees. Indicative market rates, clearly labelled as such.
A calculator that is always to hand
A floating calculator opens over whatever you are looking at, drags anywhere on screen, resizes, and remembers where you left it. Scientific keys when you need them. No more reaching for your phone mid-estimate.
Getting started
Three steps. Nothing to configure.
- 1
Open Finance from the dashboard and add your first bill — name, amount, due date and how often it repeats.
- 2
Press the bell and choose whether you want to hear about it on the due day or three days before.
- 3
When you pay it, press paid. A one-off bill moves to the paid list; a recurring one rolls to its next date and takes the reminder with it.
Why it's worth it
Late fees are the most avoidable expense there is
Nothing about a missed EMI instalment is a money problem — it is a memory problem, and it is charged for anyway. A bill you were told about three days early is a bill you paid on time.
It sits next to the calendar you already check
A finance app you have to remember to open is a finance app you stop opening. These reminders appear on the same Nepali calendar you look at anyway, tagged so you can see where they came from.
Private by default
Your bills are stored against your account and nowhere else. No bank connection, no statement scraping, no third party reading what you owe and to whom.
Finance — frequently asked questions
The things people actually ask before signing up.
Does Calenote connect to my bank?
No, and deliberately so. Nothing is scraped, imported or linked. You enter the bills you want to be reminded about, which means no bank credentials ever leave your hands and nothing about your account balance is visible to anyone but you.
Can it remind me before the due date rather than on it?
Yes. Each bill can be set to remind you on the morning it is due, or three days earlier at 8 AM — usually the more useful of the two, since a bank transfer or a queue at the counter takes time.
What happens to a monthly bill after I mark it paid?
The due date advances one cycle and any reminder you had set is recreated on the new date. Month lengths are handled, so a bill due on the 31st lands on the last day of a shorter month rather than spilling into the next one.
Are the exchange rates official Nepal Rastra Bank rates?
No. They are indicative market rates from an open rate service, refreshed when you open the module, and the card says so. Banks and remittance services apply their own margins, so use these for estimating, not for reconciling a transfer.
Is Finance available in team workspaces?
It is personal-space only. EMIs, rent and premiums belong to a person rather than to a shared workspace, so the module does not appear inside team spaces at all.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Bills you add or edit without a connection are saved on your device and sync automatically the moment you are back on Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Finance is free. So is everything else.
One account gives you the Nepali calendar, notes, reminders and every dashboard tool — with no ads and nothing sold to advertisers.
