Opening your estimate…
Saved in this browser as you type. Nothing is uploaded — use Excel or Backup for anything you need to keep.
This calculator is the free tier. The site office is the upgrade.
A free account saves projects to the cloud. Neo-Struct workspaces take the same BOQ into execution: Gantt schedules with physical & financial progress, RA bills that snapshot rates at finalisation, variations, vendor bills and muster-roll cost ledgers — with a client tracking link your client can open like a courier parcel.
BOQ calculator — frequently asked questions
Is this BOQ calculator really free?
Yes. The calculator, rate analysis, and Excel export are free with no sign-up. Your BOQ is saved in your own browser, on your own device. A free Calenote account adds cloud-saved projects, and Neo-Struct workspaces add Gantt schedules, RA bills, variations and cost ledgers on top of the same BOQ.
How does the rate analysis work?
Each BOQ item can carry a recipe — the material, labour and equipment quantities needed per one unit of the item, DUDBC-norms style. The item's rate is then computed from your resources table, so when a market rate changes (say cement), you edit it once and every recipe item, subtotal and the grand total re-price instantly.
Does it handle VAT and overhead & profit for Nepal?
Yes. Overheads & profit is applied as a percentage (15% by default, editable) on the direct cost, and Nepal's 13% VAT can be toggled on the subtotal — the standard build-up used in quotations and government estimates.
Can I export the BOQ to Excel?
One click exports an .xlsx with the full quotation — sections, items, rates, subtotals, O&P, VAT and grand total — plus a second sheet showing the rate build-up of every analysed item, ready to attach to a tender or send to a client.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Without an account, everything stays in your browser's local storage — nothing is sent to any server. Clearing your browser data clears the BOQ, so export to Excel for anything you need to keep.
