What it does

01

Every fee, calculated the way NEPSE actually works

Broker commission on its sliding scale, SEBON regulatory fee, and DP charge per transaction — applied on both buy and sell. The profit you see is the profit you would actually take home.

02

WACC that survives multiple buys

Buy the same scrip at four different prices across two years and the weighted average cost is worked out for you — including the fees you paid on each purchase, which most calculators quietly ignore.

03

Capital gains tax by holding period

Nepal taxes share gains differently depending on how long you held them and whether you are an individual or an institution. Each holding shows its CGT clock, so you can see what selling today would cost versus waiting.

04

Live prices and a market summary

Refresh live prices for your holdings, with a market strip showing the NEPSE index with its point change, advancers and decliners, turnover and the day's top movers.

05

Multiple portfolios

Keep your own portfolio separate from the one you manage for a parent or sibling — switch between them without mixing the numbers up.

Getting started

Three steps. Nothing to configure.

  1. 1

Open the dashboard and choose 📈 Portfolio, then add your first holding — scrip, quantity, buy price and buy date.

  2. 2

Press refresh to pull live prices. Your invested amount, current value, unrealised profit and fees paid appear immediately.

  3. 3

Click any holding for a full breakdown: WACC, the fee split, the CGT clock, and what a sale today would actually net you.

Why it's worth it

Most people overestimate their profit

It is easy to compare buy price with market price and feel good. Commission, SEBON fee, DP charge and CGT can turn a comfortable-looking gain into a modest one — better to know before you sell than after.

The CGT clock changes decisions

Seeing that a holding crosses into a lower tax band in a few weeks is exactly the kind of thing worth knowing before you place a sell order.

NEPSE Portfolio — frequently asked questions

The things people actually ask before signing up.

Is the NEPSE portfolio tracker free?

Yes. Adding holdings, refreshing prices and every calculation are free with a Calenote account.

Does it calculate broker commission and SEBON fee?

Yes. It applies the broker commission scale, the SEBON regulatory fee and the DP charge on both purchase and sale, so your profit figure is net of the costs you actually pay.

How is capital gains tax calculated on NEPSE shares?

Nepal applies different capital gains tax rates depending on how long the shares were held and whether the investor is an individual or an institution. Calenote shows each holding's holding period and applies the corresponding rate to your estimated gain. It is an estimate to inform your decision, not tax advice — confirm with your broker or tax adviser before filing.

What is WACC and why does it matter?

WACC is the weighted average cost of the shares you own, across every purchase you made, including the fees paid on those purchases. It is the honest break-even price for that scrip — the number your profit should be measured against.

Where do the share prices come from?

Live prices are pulled from public NEPSE market data and refreshed on demand. Breadth, turnover and top movers come from the end-of-day market summary, which is published after the session closes.

Can I track more than one portfolio?

Yes. You can keep separate portfolios — for example your own and one you manage for a family member — and switch between them.

Is this financial advice?

No. Calenote records your transactions and does the arithmetic. It does not recommend what to buy or sell, and the signals it shows are rule-based observations from your own data, not advice.
