A to-do list that actually reminds you
Due dates, repeats, checklists and month view — with reminders that reach your phone.
What it does
Due date and time on any task
Set a date, add a time if it matters, and the task lands in Today, Tomorrow or Later automatically. Dates work in both Bikram Sambat and English.
Reminders that arrive
One tap for 'morning of' at 8 AM, or 'one hour before' for timed tasks. Reminders come through the same engine as your calendar — phone notification, app and Chrome extension.
Repeating tasks
Daily or weekly-on-that-weekday, for the things real life repeats: class, gym, a weekly report, medicine. Each day is ticked separately, so 'did I do it today' stays honest.
Checklists inside a task
'Buy groceries' opens into milk, eggs, bread. One task, many small steps, ticked off as you go.
List view and month view
Some people think in lists, some in dates. Switch between a grouped list and a month grid where each day shows coloured dots for what is planned.
Tags that keep it sane
Work, Personal, Study — or your own. Colour-coded and filterable, so one list does not become one undifferentiated pile.
Getting started
Three steps. Nothing to configure.
- 1
Open the dashboard, choose ✅ Planner, and type your first task in the box at the top with its date.
- 2
Open the task and tap a reminder — 'morning of' or 'one hour before'. For anything that repeats, set it to daily or weekly.
- 3
Use the month view on Sunday evening to see the week coming, and the list view every morning to see today.
Why it's worth it
A plan without a reminder is a wish
Most to-do apps hold your list but never interrupt you. Tasks here are wired into the same reminders that already reach your phone.
Repeats stop eating your attention
The things you do every week should not need re-typing every week. Set them once.
Checklists prevent the second trip
The reason you went back to the shop is the item you forgot. Sub-items fix that.
Planner — frequently asked questions
The things people actually ask before signing up.
Is the Calenote planner free?
Yes. Tasks, due dates, reminders, recurring tasks, checklists and both views are free with a Calenote account.
Can I set recurring tasks like 'every Monday'?
Yes. A task can repeat daily, or weekly on the weekday of its start date. Each occurrence is ticked separately so your history stays accurate.
Will I get a notification on my phone?
Yes. Choose 'morning of' or 'one hour before' and the reminder is created in Calenote's reminder system, which delivers notifications to your phone and browser, and shows on the Chrome extension.
Does the planner use the Nepali date?
Yes. Dates can be picked and read in Bikram Sambat or English — the same dual-date system used across Calenote.
Can I add sub-tasks or a checklist?
Yes. Any task can hold a checklist of smaller items, each ticked off individually.
What is the difference between the Planner and to-dos on the calendar?
Calendar to-dos are quick items attached to a single date. The Planner is for tasks that need due times, repeats, checklists, tags and a month view — it is the fuller tool for planning ahead.
Planner is free. So is everything else.
One account gives you the Nepali calendar, notes, reminders and every dashboard tool — with no ads and nothing sold to advertisers.
